Maybe you don’t like your hair, teeth, eyes, the fact that you don’t have a “thigh gap”, you wish that you were skinny, or you hate the fact that you are skinny, whatever it is for you I want you to tell yourself that you love who you are. It breaks my heart that so many of people (including myself I’ll admit) hurt themselves either mentally or physically because they feel as if they can never meet the impossible standards that our culture says is “beautiful” or “handsome” or “perfect”. And it’s not even the pressure that society puts on us; it’s the pressure that we put on ourselves too. Today, I just want you to take one day to free yourself of that pressure. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you love who you are. Go do it now. Even if you don’t believe it, tell yourself that you do. Go put on your favorite clothes, go hang out with friends you haven’t in a long time, go do something, but go do it for yourself. If you love yourself that is what makes you beautiful. It’s cliché I know, but aren’t the secrets to life hidden in the word cliché?
I love all of you and if you ever need someone to talk to about anything just let me know.
